Chat Room Instructions

I have been asked by several Brothers if I could add a chat room to the Forums.  I can’t, but I can add a link to a chat that is on the Wichita site.  It’s nothing fancy but it is a functional chat that can be used in conjunction with the forums.  It’s available for help or for just shooting the bull with brothers around the country if you want to.

Follow the link in the forums to the GSMC Chat page.  You will hear an audible sound…I think it sounds like a doorbell…when you enter the room.  If you want to stay on the forum at the same time you should right click the link and choose, “open link in new window” or “open link in new tab”.  This will allow you to have both the forums and the chat up at once.

The first time you go into the room you will notice that a green peg icon with a goofy name will be in the small window on the right of the screen.  This is you.  To change your name you must left click on the name.  This will open a new window and allow you to change your name to whatever you wish.  To keep things simple and to make sure we all know who is there I suggest using your road name, then your chapter.  For instance, mine would be Tater_Wichita.  Use an underscore between the 2 words or they will run together.

The only real issue I can see with the chat room is that there must be someone in chat who has a white or gold peg to allow new people into the room for the first time.  Once you have been made a member you will be able to come and go as you wish.  I will try and have the room open in the evenings when I am home as much as possible to get people in.
